Karina Canellakis Shares Colorado Symphony Stage with Marin Alsop

This weekend Karina Canellakis will share the stage of Colorado Symphony’s Boettcher Concert Hall with Marin Alsop in a program featuring John Adams Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Mozart Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K. 543, and Mahler Symphony No. 1 in D major, “The Titan”.  Karina will take the baton in the Mozart Symphony.

The Taki Concordia Conducting Fellowship has partnered with the Colorado Symphony since the Fellowship’s inception in 2002.  Marin Alsop noted, “The Colorado Symphony has been especially supportive of the Taki Concordia Fellows, hosting every one of them here in Denver. Many thanks to the CSO!”  This week of rehearsals and performances will allow Karina to work closely with Marin Alsop on the craft of conducting, the art of music-making, and the many skills essential to good orchestral leadership.  Everyone involved in the TCCF is extremely grateful for the generous opporunities provided by the Colorado Symphony and other orchestras and conductors who assist in mentoring and promoting our Fellows!
