The Taki Concordia Conducting Fellowship offers a wonderful and unique opportunity to talented women conductors at the early stages of their careers. By promoting, presenting, mentoring, and encouraging our individual Fellows, we are also working on a more general level to open the field of opportunity and exposure to women in the traditionally exclusively male world of orchestral leadership. It is encouraging to find that we have increasing numbers of applicants with an ever-increasing level of accomplishment. This would indicate that women are moving forward in the field and that our efforts are indeed having a tangible and positive effect.
