Polish conductor Marzena Diakun recently held a highly acclaimed tenure as Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonic de Radio France and is having an active career guest conducting orchestras across the Continent and the Americas. Recent engagements include Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias, Orchestre Philharmonique de Busan, Orchestre National de Lyon, Orquestra Sinfónica do Estado de São Paulo, Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, Katowice Philharmonic Orchestra, Connecticut Chamber Virtuosi (USA), Jeaner Philharmoniker (Germany) and Berg Orchestra (Prague), National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Lubljana, Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara.
Since 2009, her collaboration with Spanish contemporary orchestra “Smash Ensemble” has brought several premieres of Spanish composers in Portugal, Spain, Germany and Lithuania.
In 2010 Marzena completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Krakow Academy of Music. She currently is a conducting professor at the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw leading her own conducting class since 2013.
Diakun received „Kreatywni Wrocławia” award and she was nominated to the „Wrocław Music Award” in 2015. She was „The Artist of the Year” in 2013 and obtained „Koszalin Eagle” – President of Koszalin award.
