The Philadelphia Orchestra is adding a seasoned American conductor to its artistic leadership team. Marin Alsop, who served as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s music director for nearly a decade and a half, will become Philadelphia’s principal guest conductor starting this Fall 2024.

Marin Alsop (USA) conducted Last Night of the Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 9 September, the very same venue where she became the first female Last Night of the Proms conductor on 7 September 2013.

This prize was awarded by a jury featuring leading Music Directors Jaap van Zweden and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, as well as Johannes Schlaefli, Zurich University of Arts’ Professor for Orchestral Conducting.
After three weeks of concerts and masterclasses with the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, with this win Sułkowska-Migoń is now invited to conduct the Berner Symphonieorchester, Musikkollegium Winterthur and Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn. Past winners include François López-Ferrer, Petr Popelka, Teresa Riveiro Böhm and Andreas Ottensamer.
